SAFER & STRONGER THAN BEFORE!
August 28th, 2020
Thank you for patience and support during our COVID-19 scare in July. We are pleased to report that all team members are safe and healthy. Castle Die Hard operations have resumed with increased prudence in safety guidelines established by the CDC.
We want to thank you again for the kind messages and hope you are keeping safe. While orders are caught up thanks to the outstanding efforts of our team, USPS is continuing to experience shipping delays due to COVID-19 and the recent hurricanes.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE
July 2nd, 2020
It has come to our attention that one of our team members recently tested positive for COVID-19. Although they have not been to the warehouse in two weeks, as a precaution, we are temporarily closing the warehouse until all team members are tested. Team members will be allowed to return after they are cleared by their doctor with a negative test result. Additional safety and sanitation measures are being implemented and we will continue following safety guidelines established by the CDC.
What does this mean for the Avalore launch?

CASTLE DIE HARD & COVID-19
April 9th, 2020
State of DHD
Our hearts are heavy at Castle Die Hard today. As the world rapidly changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, like so many of our partners, friends, and family, we too, are adapting. On March 18th, 2020, we temporarily closed our warehouse as a direct response to protect our team members who are the heart and soul of Die Hard Dice. During that time we were forced to consider the previously inconceivable. Though we have emergency funds to support us through slower times, the severity of the current situation and projections for economic recovery required actions that continue to break our hearts a thousand times over.
As of this week, it is with great sorrow that we said goodbye to over 60% of our team members at Die Hard Dice. Please understand how difficult this decision was to make, but it was one of necessity with the hope of weathering this new, unpredictable storm. These people are our friends and our family, they are the people who bring us laughter and adventure, sharing their passion of dice and the stories they tell with all of us, with all of you. We love our family here at Castle Die Hard which is why each member of our team is receiving a compensation package to assist with expenses until unemployment can start. We’ve also established a food bank and are working on building a community garden to ensure that, no matter what, our friends and their families will be able to have their basic needs met.
Where does this leave Castle Die Hard?
For now, we continue moving forward. Our warehouse is open and operational again with a skeleton crew, our owners have reduced their own pay to $1 per month, and we are developing additional programs to help both our team members and the dice, gaming, and creator communities who are hurting from this global event.
Moving Forward
Warehouse Open
Online orders through our store are now available again. Please be advised that we are doing our best to fulfill earlier orders first with our reduced team. Please also be aware of global disruption in shipping, especially for international orders. You may track service disruptions for your area online.
Safety Measures
In continuing our efforts to protect our team and our customers, we are following guidelines established by the CDC:
- All team members who can work from home, will
- All warehouse team members are provided with/must use reusable face masks and disposable gloves (masks to be washed/sanitized daily)
- Warehouse teams will practice social distancing of at least 6 feet at all times
- Each team member has their own self-contained station that is not to be shared with anyone else
- Fulfillment processing now ensures only one person touches the order from start-to-finish
- Established a touch-less order verification system
- All surfaces are disinfected with CDC-recommended cleaning solutions
- If an employee has come in contact with someone who is suspected or known to have contracted COVID-19, they will be on a compensated quarantine until they can either be tested, or two weeks, whichever comes first
What we can do now
Community is the foundation of Die Hard Dice and we recognize how difficult it is for everyone right now in the spaces we share. Currently, we are developing a few ways to support the makers of this industry through promotion and collaborative efforts. Together, we are stronger. We will update this page (and social media) with additional information regarding these efforts as they go live.
In the meantime, we’d like to ask you to continue supporting small businesses. PDFs of games and books are available online through DriveThruRPG, Itch.io, the DMsGuild, or directly through your favorite publisher’s website. Purchase gift certificates from your favorite dice bag and tray makers. Use Ko-Fi, PayPal, or Patreon to support your favorite content creators. If financial support is not possible, here are several ways that directly support the makers of the world:
- Follow on social media
- Like, comment, and share their posts
- Download and explore new podcasts
- Watch live streams and videos
- Leave a positive review on a product or service
- Tell your friends why you enjoy their work
- Tell the makers why you enjoy their work
These are challenging times that will forever shape the world we knew; however, we can make it through this together. Practice social distancing, wash your hands, check in on friends and family, and support those around you.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your support for us here at Castle Die Hard.

COVID-19 Voluntary Quarantine
March 18th, 2020
Die Hard Dice is a family of passionate people working hard to bring you powerful treasures that elevate your gaming experiences. We’ve been monitoring COVID-19 closely and, in order to protect our families and yours, we are closing our warehouse for at least two weeks, starting March 18th.
Recognizing the difficulties we all face during this time, we are committed to the health and well being of our employees and will continue to compensate and support them.
