The tavern door opened, and an inordinately tall figure stepped through. The barkeep watched the figure totter to the counter on legs far too short for their height. A faint snickering could be heard from the figure’s torso, and their face and head seemed rather small for a figure of their height. “Hello,” said the figure, wearing a fake moustache. “One alcohol, please.”

Don’t be fooled by this regular sized mystery case! Inside you’ll find not one, but two full sets of miniature polymer dice. These mystery mini dice are perfect for your bite-sized brave, half-pint hero, or any adventurer who has a craving for the cutest dice in all the realms.

    Amazing Value

I bought these when I started playing in a D&D campaign with my buddies and needed some dice. I saw the price for the two pack and thought it was a great. I've been using them since and have zero complaints.

    Love these!

I am such a fan of blind boxes in general so getting two sets of mystery ceilings is up my alley! Planning on getting more in the future 😄

Good Dice, Just a little Disappointed

The dice themselves are good quality and everything. I’ve bought plenty of dice from here and loved them all! This is the first time I ever bought “mystery packs,” and I was more excited over the stickers that came with the dice, than the dice themselves. I bought 3 sets and out of all three I didn’t get any dice that made me feel happy with my purchase. I don’t know if I just have very bad luck or whatever else, but out of the 6 dice sets from the 3 sets, I didn’t get one fun multicolour dice like I seen in the marketing pictures. (The pink/white green/white and blue/white ones) I love multicolour dice like those and was a little disappointed to get bland, one colour dice sets. I was expecting there to be a few I wouldn’t be so excited for or already had a set of because I buy a lot of dice, but I was hoping there were be one or two very unique dice. So overall, good dice quality, I was just disappointed with the simple, no personality dice I received with even getting 3 sets at once.

Yay minis! And the case is awesome!

Minidice are I how I judge a dice company. I prefer minis so I can move lighter. It's easy to make a 14-16mm d6 or full sized polyhedrons, but you can screw up minis if you don't try. Critlings are some of the best, with good scaling, good molds and they are a little heavier than their counterparts from Chessex, MDG and Kaplow, something that I do like. Comparing Critlings to Foam Brain's minis is like the Yankees vs a t-ball team.

And the price is great. I usually spend about $6 (USD) for a set of minis across all brands, so a pair for ten is just sound economics. I bought several of these when they got to my local brick and mortar shop, each had a colorful clear set and a marbled set. No duplicates in the three sets, which is a limited sample size, but it was half of what they had on hand and I didn't want to be a pig. As an admitted dice goblin, I'll buy half a dozen blind sets in a new restock of randoms and sometimes half of them might be the same colorway, which is a little sad for random sets.

If I was forced to find a criticism, it's the case. It's over sized. Oh dear. There is room in there four sets, or three plus room left over for half a dozen (or more) 12mm d6. You could also use full size d6s as filler, I guess. Maybe you need to buy two sets to make efficient use of the available space, which gives me another pocket sized case for figures and map markers. Oh shucky darn, more dice. Or if you prefer, just carry your two sets of mini polyhedrons and a PC figure or two. Wait, that's a flaw to be critical about? That the case is oversized in a practical manner? HA!

If I was to find a real "flaw" it is that other people do really good minis, to, and they start to blur together other than the Chessex ones. The "metallic but not metal" style that includes the Helldancer or Thornsinger would look awesome in the smaller format and actually be very distinctive in the industry. I can't see metal sets ever making it into the "Trenchcoat"- they would have a distinctive mass, and blow the margin. And you could never make the diaglyphs work at this size. That isn't about just this particular product, though, but the Critling line- like fishing lures which are made to catch a fisherman's eye before fish, gamers roll first with their eyes, then their wallets, then their fingers. Higher price point, to be sure, but if one in four "Trenchcoats" has faux metallics, people will buy hoping to find the deal.
