TLDR: Order from Die Hard w/ absolute confidence, because WOW. TRULY they WILL make SURE you are 1000% happy!
Update 1: They reached out about this review and DID NOT ask me to change it, which is exactly why I am changing it. Great customer service should be reciprocated, and them reaching out with no expectation that I would change my review really makes all the difference.
Update 2: They are sending me a free set of "replacement" dice, meaning another set I liked better than these, and letting me keep this set too. EVEN when I said they really didn't need to do that, because I was very pleased and impressed with my order over all. Really top notch service. I really have to go to Five Stars now, even though I did not like the initial set, because I just can't get over this customer service.
Original Review: I ordered like 10 sets of dice from Die Hard, and the rest were at least as good, if not better, than expected. This is the only one that let me down. Based on the picture and description I thought they would be more sparkly, and a bit transparent. In reality they very opaque, and they layers were kind of muddled together, so they weren't as shiny as I hoped. They're still the high quality materials and rolling that you expect from Die Hard. Just visually not what I wanted for the Pirate Genasi character I've been dreaming of.
Got the dice for my girlfriend for her birthday, she absolutely loved them!
As some other reviews have said, these dice are absolutely beautiful but also difficult to read with the dice and the inking both being quite dark. I read the reviews before buying these so I was prepared for it, but definitely be aware of that going in. If you have good lighting when rolling you'll probably be fine, but in dim lighting I had to squint to see the numbers. That being said, they are really good-looking dice and I do love the color combination, especially the indigo ink for the numbers!
I love the look of these dice - but on the faces where the black color is dominant, the numbers are very hard to read!
